About the Mazarrón Area

The Mazarrón area offers a unique combination of seaside and countryside providing year round leisure opportunites. Mazarron Bay benefits from a microclimate which is said to be one of the healthiest in Europe with over 300 days of sunshine per year.

Mazarron Bay has over 35Km of coastline of great scenic beauty and at Puerto de Mazarron a new 10Km promenade is being built which will link most of the major beaches.

Mazarron Town (about 5Km from Puerto) has an interesting history of mining - now defunct - and some nice old churches; the Town Hall is among some buildings of special architectural interest.

The nearest big city is Cartagena which was founded in 3rd century BC and is a thriving Naval and Commercial centre. There are many ancient and modern places to visit and excellent shopping.

There are direct flights to Murcia Regional Airport (San Javier) from Gatwick, Luton, Stanstead, East Midlands, Leeds-Bradford, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Southampton, Glasgow & Dublin.
